Meal Planning and Eating Healthy

One of the toughest things I did not get prepared for when signing up as a Mother, was to feed 5 members of a household a complete, balanced meal within their dietary requirements and tailor-made to their needs on a daily basis.

I am feeling overwhelmed by this job that was suppose to be one of my “happy, homelife” roles I took on many moons ago.

If I could invest in “something” or a “somebody” – that would be to find a person that would look at each family member’s body type, level of activity, age, needs, deficiencies and design a meal plan for him/ her.

Then to go buy the groceries, read the food labels, source good, quality products/ produce at reasonable prices without generating loads of waste for not using items within their fresh period.

Furthermore, to cook and prepare those meals EVERY meal, including the snacks and lunchpacks that need to go to school. To serve the recommend serving sizes and types of food that each person need to consider eating.

That, to me would be one of the biggest stressors in my life taken care of.

This blanket style cooking and coming up with dishes EVERY SINGLE mealtime, is KILLING me ! And hence, inconsistency and laziness and uninformed decisionmaking is definitely resulting in compromises of family members eating what others need, not eating things put in front of them, complaining about meals that were cooked out of neccessity or not prepared in the healthiest way.

It’s just exhausting to have this burden, guilt and heavy load on my shoulders. I am not doing a good job of it either. Everybody’s health is probably suffering as a result and it is just one of those tedious, extremely detailled exercises in life that you need to either try to pursue even though you will probably always feel that you are coming short.

Just sayin’.

Power Words

I read this article today. I liked it. And who doesn’t like those “POWER PUMPY words ?!

This is what you should have enterting a room.

Power. Poise. Purpose. Presence.

Couldn’t agree more.

Feet or Hands?

Hands and Feet are having an argument at home after a day out.

Hands bragging that it is cleaner than Feet and therefor can touch things and be fiddled with. Feet is outraged by this.

Because Feet has been covered in socks all day, after a shower, inside shoes that protected them with 2 layers from the gross outside world of germs that Hands were touching all day long.

“But you have been sweating all day in your socks and clearly can’t claim to be still clean”, Hands say? At least I washed a few times during the day.

“But you touched so many gross things – that is why you had to wash”, Feet replies angrily.

So which is cleaner after a day out of the house?

Hands or Feet?

You vote. Hint…!

New Instagram Logo

Why do we always feel the need to fix things that are not broken?
Has anybody actually bothered to find out why Instagram changed their logo? Isn’t it one of the most recognisable ones in social media today?

Did anybody have a problem with it? I don’t think so.

I loved the old logo. And I don’t like the new one.
And nobody that I know of is impressed with this move by Instagram either. As my pre-teen pointed out …. it’s looks like just another app now. Even the background within the app is too modern.

So sad.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Instagram ! And hopefully you don’t change your feelings for a loved one just because they got a bad haircut.

But, I so wish they could go back.

If you want to follow me on instagram, I will still be there…. and you can find me at  idodetail
